1. Singapore e-Visa (Entry Visa)
This is the standard document issued to tourists from "Assessment Level" countries (like India). It is processed digitally, and you receive it via email. It typically comes in two formats:
- Single Entry Visa: Valid for one-time entry into Singapore. Once you leave the country, the visa expires, even if the validity period hasn't ended.
- Multiple Entry Visa (MEV): This is the most common type for frequent travelers. It allows you to enter and exit Singapore as many times as you like within the visa’s validity (often ranging from 35 days to 2 years).
2. Social Visit Pass (The "30-Day Pass")
This is technically what you receive at the immigration counter. Even if your e-Visa is valid for 2 years, each individual visit is usually capped at 30 days.
- e-Pass: Singapore no longer stamps passports. You will receive an electronic "e-Pass" via email upon clearing immigration, which states the exact date you must leave.
3. 96-Hour Visa-Free Transit Facility (VFTF)
This is a special "pass" for travelers transiting through Singapore.
- Eligibility: It allows certain nationalities (including Indians) to enter Singapore for up to 96 hours (4 days) without a visa if they are flying to or from a third country (e.g., India → Singapore → Australia).
- Requirement: You must hold a valid visa for one of the following: USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Germany, or Switzerland.
4. Short-Term Visit Pass Extension
If you are already in Singapore and need more time for tourism or to visit family, you can apply for an extension.
- Standard Extension: Usually grants an additional 30 to 59 days.
- How to Apply: This must be done online via the ICA website at least 7 days before your current pass expires.
